The experts opinion

Expert wine and champagne tasters, the members of the Gourmets de France jury share their thoughts on So Jennie Blanc Dry, our new recipe with slightly bitter notes and balanced sweetness.

Sommelier and President of the Union de la Sommellerie France, Fabrice Sommier, our host for the day, shares his initial reaction after tasting So Jennie Blanc Dry: “I’m very surprised! It’s a multi-faceted product… You can create a real mocktail […]. Not very sweet, you could even add cherry or something similar. I can also imagine it in the form of a refreshing gourmet cocktail. A sparkling wine that should be served well chilled to enhance its sweetness, roundness and subtle aniseed finish. A truly wonderful discovery !

Jean-Paul Robin, restaurateur and wine merchant, was equally surprised by the convivial dimension and the infinite possibilities for drinking our prestige sparkling wine, which reminds him of a non-alcoholic wine: “[…] very fresh and refreshing, which can be enjoyed as an aperitif or throughout the day. A real pleasure, even for children, who can also join in the festivities for a real moment of conviviality.”

Géraldine Carret, Sales Manager at Les Gastronomistes, agrees: “An effervescent wine with lots of freshness! I really like it… It’s quite surprising because we’re not used to discovering this kind of product. There’s a lovely simplicity, a perfect balance between bitterness and a subtly sweet silkiness, and the bubbles are very present. A very pleasant aperitif”.

Claire Monnier, from the Union de la Sommellerie Française and a participant in the 2023 World’s Best Sommelier competition, also appreciated the bitter notes of Blanc Dry: “I really like it. Very fresh as an aperitif! The bitterness on the finish lends itself equally well to desserts, such as a nice seasonal fruit tart”.

Our new recipe won over the exceptional panel of judges with a fine score of 4.2/5, reflecting the expertise and subtlety of So Jennie Blanc Dry. Finally, a 0.0% alcohol sparkling wine with many facets…
